Originally from Long Island, Debbie Segal came as far south as Atlanta, Georgia to attend Emory Law School. She remained and has had a distinguished career as a Public Interest Lawyer, beginning with Atlanta Legal Aid, before serving as Executive Director of Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation and as Pro Bono Partner with the Kilpatrick Townsend Law firm. She supported Public Interest service in many roles within the ABA and beyond.
Although technically retired, Debbie continues her work by representing victims of domestic violence and by teaching Public Interest Law at Emory.
Debbie began making jewelry as a teen. With a few gaps over the years, she has continued her avocation by making pieces for herself, her friends, family and to support causes that matter.
